4K Blu-ray, untouched
If your device can decode it, MUVY sends the original video through without re-encoding — every bit of the grade and grain intact. Only the container changes.
Self-hosted media server for Windows
MUVY runs on your own PC and streams your films and shows to your browser, your phone and your TV. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is tracked. Nobody else decides what stays.
Collections, sub-collections & groups
A collection can hold other collections. Any collection can be split into named groups. So Marvel isn't 34 films in a row — it's the sagas, and inside them the phases, in the order they belong. Build it once, and every device sees the same shelf.
Nesting is unlimited, and a film can sit in as many places as makes sense — Iron Man in Marvel, in a Robert Downey Jr. collection, and in Saturday Night, without three copies on disk.
The app
What it does
From a 400 MB episode to an 80 GB 4K Blu-ray, on the hardware you already own.
If your device can decode it, MUVY sends the original video through without re-encoding — every bit of the grade and grain intact. Only the container changes.
Four encoding paths — NVIDIA, Intel Quick Sync, then software — and MUVY picks the fastest one the device and the file can agree on. You press play; it plays.
Detects a television and grows the targets, the progress bar and the text to match. Built and tuned on an LG C4 with the Magic Remote.
Pulled from IMDb's own published dataset and refreshed daily, so the number on the poster is the number people actually recognise.
To the second, per person, across devices — and it saves when you close the tab, not only when you press pause.
Separate watch history and resume points for each person you share with, and you decide who can change the library and who can only watch it.
Getting running
One installer, no dependencies. It brings its own copy of ffmpeg and runs as a Windows service, so your library is there after a reboot without anyone signing in.
Add the folders your films and shows already live in. MUVY reads them where they are, matches artwork and metadata, and never moves or renames anything.
Open a port and MUVY gives you a short server code. Hand it to a friend and they reach your library from anywhere — no account with us, no middleman.
Been given a code?
You don't need to install anything and you don't need an account with us. Type the code they gave you and you'll land on their sign-in page.

A machine that can play the file can serve it. Hardware encoding is used when it's there and worked around when it isn't.
64-bit. An app you open, not a background service — it can start itself at login and sits in the tray.
Internal, USB or network. MUVY reads them in place and leaves them alone.
ffmpeg and the runtime ship inside the installer. Licences included.
